Sneak Peek: Meadors – Gould Wedding

We were so very thrilled to be a part of Charlotte and Taylor’s (whirlwind) wedding weekend! We were part of a great team of vendors for both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding day. The weekend was photographed beautifully by Picture This! Photography. Here are a few of our favorites — head over to our Facebook page soon to see the whole album!

First, a quick look at the rehearsal dinner centerpieces at Canoe — we had such a great time designing these with Taylor’s mom! These colorful centerpieces are perfect for an outdoor Springtime rehearsal dinner.

Next — the wedding day! Charlotte’s bouquet of white peonies was accented with a custom handkerchief and family heirloom Bible — so sweet! Her bridesmaids bouquets featured hints of purple with the loveliest lavender lilac we’ve seen in a while!

At the reception, our custom lavender medallion linen complemented more stunning purple tones, including deep purple hydrangea popped against whites and greens. We accented the outdoor tent at the Capital City Club with one of our iron fountains and added ambient lighting with our silver chandeliers. It was truly a wonderful night to remember!

Last but not least, the gorgeous cake by Frosted Pumpkin was accented with Charlotte’s favorite — more lavender lilac — with fresh gardenias at the base. A custom textured cake table linen complemented it beautifully.

The team at Watermark Weddings coordinated the weekend so well — it was our pleasure to work with such an all star cast of vendors! Congrats again to Charlotte and Taylor, and as always, our best wishes for happily ever after!

Pinterest Finds: Creative Wedding Bouquets

What little girl doesn’t have a story of trying to catch the bouquet or better yet, stealing a little of the attention as the flower girl!

Here at Tony Brewer Co. we LOVE flowers – but we’re surprised at how few brides take full advantage of them. Step out beyond roses and baby’s breath with some of these seasonal ideas, care of our favorite frivolity, Pinterest!

Pinterest Finds: Brooch Bouquets Add Sparkle to Floral Tradition

wedding brooch bouquetOne of the things we love most about Pinterest is how plugging just a few words in to search can open up a world of visual beauty and glamour! And that’s just what happened when we were nosing around for brooches and happened upon page after page of gorgeous, glittering brooch bouquets!

An obvious take on the traditional wedding bouquet, these shimmering versions are created entirely from brooches – not quite as lightweight or sweet smelling as a bundle of roses, but who can deny how beautiful they are?

Floral Feng Shui: Flowers Add Elegance, Energy

crocus, vase of flowers, blue flowers, vase of blue flowers, vase of crocuses, vase of crocus flowers, flower vaseThey’re gorgeous, sweet-smelling and provide an instant mood-lifter – but did you know fresh flowers also can lift the energy in your home?

So say practitioners of Feng Shui, the ancient Eastern metaphysical science that says the positioning of furniture, color schemes and even particular decor can directly influence the comfort of your surroundings and your overall well-being.

Live flowers, in particular, are believed to bring strong healing energy and good luck to your home. What a wonderful excuse for a standing weekly order from Flowers by Tony Brewer!

Feng Shui has its roots in China, where it was used as far back as 3,000 years ago largely to orient tombs, important structures and homes in a way believed to promote good fortune and success.

In modern times, many people continue to use special Feng Shui grids and compasses to map distinct areas of a building and plan decor that promotes good “chi” –  or energy.

Meticulously arranging your house to align with Feng Shui theories may not be practical for you. But adding a fresh-cut flower arrangement by the master florists at our Ritz-Carlton Buckhead boutique is a fast, fragrant way to add a little good chi to your living space! Try these flowers for some fresh-cut Feng Shui :

Peony: These playful perennials have long been used in Feng Shui to influence stronger loving relationships. Try these blossoms in pink or red – a symbol of passion and emotion – to kindle romance and encourage refreshed love. Perfect for a bedroom or even a den.

Orchids: Renowned for their delicately abstract beauty, these refined blossoms offer a double-shot of Feng Shui goodness. Most classically associated with the color purple, the Feng Shui shade representing faith, they’re also believed to represent the quest for perfection and encourage abundance. A great pick me up!

Narcissus or Daffodil: This largely spring-blossoming flower is particularly powerful in white – a color affiliated with strength in Feng Shui culture. Overall, these cheery blooms are believed to encourage the “flowering” of one’s career. Sounds like the perfect choice for a home office!

Chrysanthemum: According to Feng Shui, this popular flower brings something we could all use – a life of ease and balance. Try blossoms with an accent flower in blue – a color affiliated with relaxation – for an extra shot of peace and serenity in your home.
Whether you subscribe to Feng Shui properties or not, adding a breathtaking arrangement of fresh-cut flowers is a quick way to bring beauty, elegance and a little bit of spring freshness to your home year-round!

Pinterest Find: Blue Wedding Cake with Oversized White Flowers

Is it possible to fall in love with a cake? Because I am pretty sure that happened as soon as I saw this cake by Long Beach, California’s Sweet and Saucy Shop. I love the big, oversized white flowers against the pretty blue of the fondant. Perfection!
