Where We Work: La Casa Llotja de Mar – Barcelona

June has turned into a super busy month for us, but we’re really excited about one event in particular. One of our biggest corporate clients holds an annual international event, and this year, it’s in Barcelona! We’ll be doing two events over two days, but I wanted to share one of the incredibly cool venues with you, La Casa Llotja de Mar.

Built in the 18th-century on top of Spain’s medieval stock exchange, it is now one of the country’s most spectacular examples of two-story Gothic architecture. It is said to house Spain’s most interesting collection of neoclassical sculpture, including the Dying Lucretia by Damià Campeny. Casa Llotja is now home to Barcelona’s Official Chamber of Commerce.

The courtyard, where cocktail hour will kick off the event, holds a central fountain and a sculpture in each corner.

The courtyard leads to the Escala d’honor, a grand staircase that carries guests into the main event space.

And finally, our dinner will take place in the Saló de Contractacions, or Transaction Hall. With soaring ceilings, intricate arches and columns, and historic stone walls, this room makes a sure statement.

I can’t wait to share more details of the event as the date gets closer! We’ve loved working in Barcelona; what’s your dream foreign city to hold an event in?
